New owner
Chef Moe Michels, who has appeared on a weekly cooking segment on the Columbus (OH) Fox affiliate for the past two years, has taken over the Barn on York. Chef Moe, widely known in Central Ohio and considered one of the hottest chefs in the capital city, has breathed new life into a traditional restaurant that had lost its direction. A wonderful dining experience and friendly atmosphere. In just a couple of weeks she has already made dramatic improvements in the kitchen and with the wait staff, and even though it is still a work in progress, this is definitely a recommended stop.    [11 Apr 2005 11:15:56]

Dirty Silverware
We have been there several times. At first the the food was superb. The last few times not so good. The silverware was dirty. The waiter said some time the dishwasher doesn't get things clean. He brought new silverware and agin there was food inside the fork. He then brought new not much better but at least no food in the fork I ordered a spring mix salad and most of it was iceberg lettece. Disappointed I might say. We love to support local businesses. Nobody leaves hungry
I have now eaten at Chef Moe's Barn on York three times and have been impressed not just with the quality of the food and service but also with the portions and prices. You definitely get a lot for your money at Chef Moe's. If you can, save room for dessert - or better yet take some home in a box so that the Chef Moe experience can be prolonged. Chef Moe is a weekly TV celebrity who focuses all her energy on keeping her customers satisfied. She is a treasure in the Columbus, Ohio area.    [09 Nov 2005 22:22:33]

The Parmesan Tomato Creole is the best soup I have had in my life!! It is just fabulous. I think my next meal at the Barn will be two bowls of that soup and dessert. It's just that good. Keep up the good work -- we'll definitely be back.    [28 Dec 2005 11:40:37]

Disappointed
We took my sister for her birthday (12/05) and I'm afraid that based on what I'd seen on TV & having stayed at the Inn at Cedar Falls that I built up our expectations too high. The fish was tasteless, the sides were partially cold. The servers were young and more interested in socializing w/each other-mostly indifferent to us. About what I'd expect out of a minute man pizza operation. They were even out of the soup special and it was only 6:00. After we payed our bill that came to just over $100 w/tip- I left feeling 'had' and apologetic to my sister since it was her b-day. To top it off the dining area was meat locker freezing & that is coming from a person that's always warm. My advice to chef Moe is to decide on what kind of restaurant or fast food joint it is that you want because in the middle is awful.    [30 Jan 2006 21:46:30]

Great experience
Our family visited the Barn for the first time this past weekend (2/25). We were pleasantly surprised by the "family" atmosphere and very satisfied with the delicious meal! We weren't able to see Chef Moe, but that just means we'll have to come back!    [27 Feb 2006 08:29:01]

Good all around
