Not your usual rib house, they use tender two-pound babybacks and a seven spice rub and secret BBQ sauce made from scratch. All the steaks are aged, cut from the best available U.S.D.A. and never frozen. Soups made from scratch and fresh ground coffee. Various awards in local ribs contests. At last check, smoking was permitted in the entire dining room. Appetizers include onion straws, buffalo wings, steamed mussels and fresh fried Blue Point oyster's. Many other choices from the menu.

The original Hickory House was vacated in the late 90's to make way for a CVS drugstore. The new Hickory House moved into a renovated building, a half- mile east of the old one. The new place allows them to better handle the popularity of their rib place. Lunch prices average out at $7; dinner tabs range from $10 to $20. The newer locations allows for a division between smokers and nonsmokers.
