I Won't Be Returning! From the moment I walked in the door I had a bad feeling. There was no one to greet you at the door. I went to a girl that was behind the food counter and when I said I was here for a birthday party she just said it was at the end of the hall and someone would be there to direct us. Well we got to the end of the hall not to find anyone to direct us but some kids literally running us over. There wasn't anyone from MM in the room and none of the tables were marked. We just happened to get there before the Bday boy. Then when everyone arrived we felt as if we couldn't go play any games until after the party because the games are in a totally different room so you cannot watch your kids while your at the table. It was no fun for the kids in this room, unless your the type to let your kids run as fast as they can while knocking everybody over. Granted they did have someone come around to make animal balloons which broke within minutes of playing, and to which we had to make sure we cleaned up because of it becoming a choking hazard. I did like the way the room was decorated with the black lights and the mechanical band that they had was a bit interesting, but it was very cold in there, it didn't seem like they even had the heat on. Although this room is in the very back of this place you could feel a cold draft everytime the door was opened (at least I assume it was the front door, you can't see the door from this room, but that is what if felt like)
I do have to say that they do have some good pizza and it was nice that the bday kid could pick his own toppings. Also it was nice that all the kids got a sundae with a topping of their choice and the cake was also very good.
Ok so we had our little party and as we were cleaning up they finally announced over the loud speaker that it was _____'s bday today. We thought that it was a little late for it and very non personal.
Then we all moved into the play area. It was not very big but they crammed a lot of games and kiddie rides in it, which made it VERY difficult to keep an eye on the children. A lot of the games and some of the rides took 4 tokens! I wasted a few tokens because I didn't read first when putting the tokens in. I could almost expect it on some of the high end games but NOT on a kiddie ride that just goes back and forth. Again the kids there had more fun playing tag or chase and see how many people or little kids they can knock over. There was no one from MM slowing these kids down. My 2 year old was nearly knocked off the stairs that goes into a tunnel because of these kids, luckily I was there to catch him.
One of the parents of the bday boy was in line to exchange tickets for prizes...MM wanted 200 tickets for a plastic dog that was only about 2" high!!
After about 20 minutes of this chaos we were out of tokens and I decided it was time for us to leave. Then I realized something...the doors to outside is right there in the playroom with NO KIND OF SECURITY AT ALL!!! Anyone could take your kid while your not looking (which is very easy in this place) or your kid could just walk out and wander the parking lot, go into other stores, or go into the busy street. My heart sank when I realized all of this. Now I'm really glad I didn't let my kids wander alone in the playroom while we were waiting to have the party in the other room. You better believe I will NOT go back to this place until they have totally changed. My money will be going to Chuck E Cheese's even if they are a little more expensive...it's worth it to me because they take security precautions. [16 Dec 2005 15:11:59]
