I recently ate at the new Lockkeepers, and compared to the old Lockkeepers, this was by far the best. The ambiance was great, the food was excellent and our waiter (Dave) was the BEST! Actually, he was the best waiter I have ever had. He was fun, he knew all the answers and was quick on a come-back. [23 Aug 2002 09:46:21]

OVER RATED! Take my advice: don't waste your money. Unless you plan on getting the caviar, the food is cheap and cheaply prepared. [23 Aug 2002 21:24:37]

WAY overpriced Mundane food, great waiter. Bitter salad, bread was needed to fill you because food lacked taste. ordered rib steak and have better basically anywhere. No prices on menu, which is good, because if there were, you would walk out before they filled your water glass. $41 for a steak that I could have made better. It was NOT tender. For a place that is supposed to have great food, the experience brought us nothing but a lighter wallet.($138) [22 Jul 2004 21:59:38]

Nothing Special Visited as part of a small group 9/2/04 for lunch. Everything they brought out to us was cold except the coffee. The olive spread was good, but there were crunchies (like a shell?) in my scallops, and the taste of everything was no better than much less expensive family restaurants. Service was SLOW, it took over 10 minutes to bring a simple desert. My opinion - WAY WAY WAY overpriced, very noisey. [03 Sep 2004 15:02:45]

Great experience My husband and I love this place - it's especially nice in good weather to go for a stroll along the canal before dinner. It's a formal atmosphere, but very friendly service and delicious wines! [01 Apr 2005 14:35:31]

Over rated, over priced! There was nothing special about The Lockkeepers. It was our anniversary and I asked for a special table...I got the table closest to the elevator. The ambiance was nothing to rave about. The waiter was very nice. The food...well I've had better food at The Outback. The price...What are they thinking?....Charge too much now because I know they won't be back? And we won't be going back there. [30 Apr 2005 17:20:52]

LOVE IT I have found many things about Lockkeepers that I really love. While it is still my #1 choice for a special occasion, I've found a lot of ways to enjoy it on a regular basis. First, the Sunday Brunch is the best I've ever had. The food is amazing and all "real" stuff -- real seafood, real eggs, real homemade pastries and desserts, and all for just $28! Second, the wine tasting series on Friday nights is a great way to learn about new wines and to kick off the weekend. They are on Friday nights, with 8 wines and lots of hors doeuvres for just $25. And it's more like a cocktail party than a "wine tasting." The Lockkeepers menu has come way down in price in the past two years, and they even have a list of smaller portions with smaller prices, and a great bar menu. A guy plays piano there on weekends and he's great! The bar is a great place to sit and relax with wine, a cheese plate, and just hang out. [14 May 2006 12:59:34]
