Amazing Mexican Dishes @ affordable prices!!! My job calls me to travel approximately 250 days out of the year. Needless to say, I have lots of experience with restaurants. Salita's of Durant Oklahoma is by far the BEST Mexican Restaurant I have ever dined at. And would have to rank among the top three restaurants I have EVER dined at! My last trip called for me to be in Dallas, TX. Three others and myself were done early one evening and I recommended we drive up to Durant for what I referred to as "The best Mexican food restaurant ever." They, hesitant of making the drive finally agreed to give it a try. They all disagreed with me and said "This isn't the best MEXICAN food ever, this is the greatest FOOD ever!" Needless to say, we made the drive again, the next day! I would highly suggest that if you are EVER anywhere between OKC and the DFW Metroplex, take a chance, make the drive, and you will be glad you did! [26 Jun 2003 10:10:17]

Can't Beat Salita's for the Money My wife and I went to college in Durant and ate there often. The food is as good as I have ever eaten at a Mexican place. Tortilla chips are made fresh daily, as is the salsa which is nearly perfect for my taste, a bit spicy and a hint of cilantro. I know this because I had to ask, it was so good. You can easily tell the ingredients are fresh and home made, such as the tortillas that wrap the enchiladas. The service was always excellent. The prices are very fair for such high quality and portions. [25 Jul 2003 00:31:13]

Not that great... Tried Salita's 3 times...the staff was horrible all three times and the food is definetly Tex-mex, not exactly Mexican. [22 Jan 2006 23:07:54]

UNFORGETTABLE Salitas is tex-mex yes but it is the best darn tex-mex you will ever have in a small town in Oklahoma! No matter what you order it will be wonderful. This takes the worry out of trying something other than your normal faves. And yes the El juano is my absolute favorite!!!! loaded with cheese and jalepenos!!! Can't wait to get back to Durant to have another meal there. oh, and if you love chicken enchiladas you must have theirs. They have the best sour cream sauce I have ever tasted!
