Awesome Onion-fried Hamburgers! One of the best dining experiences ever. The hometown diner atmosphere combined with the original flavor of the onion-fried hamburgers and coneys makes for a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone passing through the area. [03 Aug 2004 15:48:48]

This restaurant is definitely worth your visit. There are several things that you will want to try. The one that stands out the most is the hamburger (or cheeseburger) with fried onions. These onions aren't just fried on the grill, they are mashed into the burger for a great taste. The normal way to order is "cheese fried deluxe", which is with lettuce, tomato and pickle, or "1 fried" which would be just a hamburger with fried onions.
Another regular on the menu is a coney. Most people get it with slaw or chili, or both. Those that don't, just order a "hot dog". Of course, there are lots of people who go there just for the chili.
For a real treat, come back in the morning for breakfast. They use the same grill to cook your eggs on, that was used to cook your fried onion burger the day before.
Don't be surprised when the waiter or the cook doesn't write anything down. They will take your whole family's order and bring it right back out to you. If for some reason, they missed something, just holler, they'll fix it right up for you.
There isn't much seating, so you may have to wait in line for a table or a stool at the counter. But ladies, don't be surprised if some gentleman gets up and offers you his place at the counter. Original review date 05 May 2004 [07 Feb 2007 03:54:17]

Slaw dogs are recommended Smokey hot dog on a bun with chile and a sweet/sourish slaw on top of that. Really good. The onion burgers are ok, ..nothing to rave about. But the slaw dogs are exceptional! [21 Jun 2007 16:01:16]
