Best Steak by far!!!!
This steak house is unbelievable! It is off of the main highway and hidden a very short way down a little road. While still easy to find it is in a country setting. The steak is absolutey awesome! Melt in your mouth meat. They have good service and lots of other menu choices. The Avalon is not a very well kept secret because the place is packed to the roof on Friday and Saturday nights. My husband and I sometimes go there and have a mouthwatering steak for a late lunch/early dinner during the week to escape the crowds. If you are a steak lover, you really should try the Avalon Supper Club. They are only closed on Mondays. They are also a family run business. We have been there several times and the quality is always the same.    [26 Jul 2003 08:40:10]

never again
My family has been coming to this restaurant for years. We visited the new Avalon and we have never been treated so badly. We waited for over 2 1/2 hours. The waitress (manager) lost our drink order. After an hour after everybody else who had arrived 1 hour later was getting their food we asked to waitress (manager) about our food. She was very rude and hostile towards me. She offended my family and the parties surrounding us. She finally brought our food to us and the order was wrong and raw. We have never never experienced this from anyone in all our years. We got up and left the resturant and she told us we had to pay for our meal. We asked for the owner. The owned talked with my wife and then when I showed up to talk with the owner the owner refused to talk with me. This is very unprofessional and I do not recommend the restaurant to anybody.    [14 Feb 2006 22:09:36]

New location not even close to the old one
Poor, Poor, Poor service. Use to love this place. The new location was a true disappointment. Pretty bad when other diners are trying to get their waitress to help us get our food. Had to wait hours for food, received undercooked food, then was treated so rudely I will never recommend this place again. Too bad, used to really enjoy it.    [14 Feb 2006 22:19:39]

Rudest owner and terrible service
We just returned from what was supposed to be a night of celebration at the Avalon Supper Club. My girlfried ordered a medium-rare steak and recieved a medium well. She returned and was given a prime rib. She returned that as well and again requested a medium rare steak. She was again brought a medium-well steak. By this time I had been done with my steak for about 30 minutes. We then cancelled her steak, but they had they nerve to charge us four dollars because my girlfriend had eaten the soup that was supposed to have come with the steak that she never received. When we asked to speak to the manager, she was very rude and accused us being scum looking for a free meal when we requested that she comp our meal. They did not apologize, instead they treated us like trash instead of like customers. I am a successful attorney and eat out often. I also waited tables to earn my way through college. Believe me, I know how to treat customers at a restaurant. If a long wait and rude management is what your looking for, this is the place. If you want to be treated like human beings, stay out of the Avalon.    [06 May 2006 22:56:06]

Can't believe the decline in service at this restaurant!!
We have been avid Avalon customers for several years now, always loving the food and the restaraunt. We went there for the last time about a year before they moved locations and had the worst experience ever. The waitress who has a lot of children was terribly rude and got into a fight with the barmaid and was screaming and cussing and threw a whole bunch of stuff in the floor. It took us over two hours to get our food and then it as after we left and called them and complained that they offered us a free dinner. My husband ate at the new restaurant recently and he was disappointed in the quality of the food as well as the timing and service. We won't be going back, or recommending this to our friends anymore. Bixby    [18 May 2006 14:18:46]

Very happy
My husband and I visited the Avalon Steakhouse for our anniversary. We were very hesitant because of the reviews we had read, but we had never been and decided to go. We were very pleased in the end. Our waitress was very friendly, our steaks were done to perfection and we received dessert "on the house" for our anniversary. We informed our waitress we would be posting our experience on the web and we would be back soon.    [25 Aug 2007 11:29:26]
