I had my 21st birthday party there, so that those over 21 could drink if they wanted, but my younger friends could still come! They have such great food, if you're just looking for a sit-down American-food-style place, they are less expensive and more tasty than Ruby Tuesday's. The service is a little slow and not overly friendly, but it's worth it for the food and atmosphere!    [04 May 2005 18:47:21]

service... what service?
The food is consistently good but the service is just way sub par. I don't expect anyone to kiss my a** or smile when I'm being rude- but I do expect friendly and accomodating service. The servers are very chilly.

Still, if you have good friends and don't mind unhappy service, it's not such a bad choice- i mean, it's conducive to a nice night of beer and conversation.
The burgers are much better than any of the cold options and the burritos are worth skipping.    [04 Apr 2006 20:31:54]

McMennamins is an OK place to go for a drink or appetizers, but only so-so if you're thinking of having a meal there. The service is usually pretty slow and if you try to go on a Friday night, you'll be waiting a long time for a table. Also, the food prep is not consistent. It depends on who is cooking that particular night. Sometimes it's pretty good, sometimes it's disappointing. Appetizers and drinks are usually good. They sell their own beers, so the selection is limited, but the beer is pretty good.    [27 Apr 2006 22:06:54]

Great fries, slow service
McMenamins' atmosphere is good, the food is good (I love their french fries, and they do pretty good fish and chips and burgers). I don't agree with those who say the servers are unfriendly; I've usually found them to be reasonably friendly (occasionally not so much). But it is definitely slow -- I wouldn't recommend it if you are in any sort of a hurry.    [11 Oct 2007 20:07:28]
