One of Salem's Best Restaurants Ideal for special occasions and frequent visits. The menu is varied including beef, lamb, pork, fish, and chicken. The atmosphere is unique and well done. Enter through the main entrance, out the back of the building, down a flight of stairs through an outdoor garden and patio, then back into the restaurant located in the old West Salem shopping district.
Check it out. You'll enjoy every aspect of this dining experience. [10 Dec 1999 15:31:25]

Best of the worst Although Salem is the state capitol it is a virtual ghost town when it comes to decent dining. Perhaps the close proximity of Portland is the reason. In most large cities Morton's would be rated as "OK". Sadly in Salem it must be rated at "outstanding". [09 Jan 2001 18:46:27]

BEST EVER I dont know what clem is talking about. This is the classiest restaurant in Oregon (yes, including Portland). Right as you step foot in this original diner, you are welcomed by the warming staff, and the cozy surroundings. This is a restaurant you don't want to miss out on. [22 Mar 2006 11:04:16]

Very average if you know fine dining Menu OK but not great. Not flexible on side dishes...if you can't eat starches don't go here. One other problem we had was there is no choice on salad dressing. Normally oil and vinegar is OK but in this case one of our guests was allergic so needed another choice. Being from an area of the country with fine dining this resturant would never make it in most places but probably is the best Salem has to offer. We go to Portland now several times a week which does have some very nice resturants. Since our family doesn't eat starches and this resturant won't sub we had no choice. [01 Dec 2006 17:51:55]

Beautiful Restaurant... The staff is wonderful, very friendly. The food presentation is also wonderful as is the menu selection. The snails were extremely salty, above and beyond regular salty. Crab Fondue, awesome. We had the duck that was very moist and tasty. We also had the scallops that were flavorful over the red pepper risotto. Thought maybe because they were wrapped in bacon or prosciutto. [16 Feb 2007 10:36:44]
