Loved the food. The staff was just terrific. Very friendly and worked hard. Made the evening enjoyable and a place we will surely come back to. [12 Sep 2002 17:06:58]

Terrible - I will never go back Being Italian, I was looking forward to my dinner at San Nicola. Boy was I disappointed. I had a 7:30 reservation and had to wait 45 minutes for my table. Management never bothered to offer us a drink while we waited and waited.
When we got to our table it was in a passagway across from the utensils. The drink orders were slow and incorrect, the food was cold and some were inedible. We were never even offered fresh grated cheese and this is supposed to be an Italian restaurant. When we complained to the waiter we were completely ignored. [24 Jan 2006 11:51:08]

Great Food Tacky Decor Some of the best Italian food in Philadelphia's western suburbs. The soups are wonderful, and the appetizer salads can't be beat. Some very creative dishes occasionally like squid ink pasta with crabmeat. And the tartufo for dessert is to die for...Very consistent, you can always count on a good meal. The service can occasionally be spotty, depending on the mood of your server...The prices are moderate, but the awful wall art (it's in both the Berwyn and Paoli restaurants)makes it look like a cheap cliche Italian red sauce joint. Reminds me of an old trattoria in Italy As soon as you step into San Nicola Berwyn or Paoli I am taken back in time to my travels in Italy. I love the food, I love the decor, it looks like an old trattoria in Verona I went to. The staff couln't be friendlier or more accomodating. Definetly worth a try. [03 Jun 2006 11:09:23]

meatballs disgusting FYI - How can one go wrong with Linguine and Meatballs - plenty
Very nice presentation, with 3 meatballs the size of tennis balls - tasted like tennis balls as well. Of the 4 of us, 3 meatballs each - we sent back 8 1/2 meatballs. They reeked of garlic - but that must have been their only ingredient. Dry - tasteless and we will not return. [05 Mar 2007 11:06:09]

Fantastic Italian restaurant You cannot go wrong choosing this one to go out and eat, good authentic food, friendly servers, very accommodating. Given that so many restaurants on the main line rip you off, with high prices, this one is reasonably priced. [31 May 2008 16:11:29]

Best Italian Meal on the Main Line San Nicola is by far the best italian meal you can get in the area. The appetizers are delicious, I would recommend the bruschetta and calamari. I have tried a couple pasta dishes- and each one is amazing. The service is definitely friendly and hardworking. Clearly the restaurant is busy because the food is so good. [02 Jun 2008 10:48:11]
