Went in with a party of five and waited for 45 minutes to be seated while there was an open table for six sitting empty the entire time. We were told it was reserved for a group that was not scheduled to be there for another hour and a quarter.
The meals were brought out one by one with excessively long intervals between them.
We had to ask for water glasses to be refilled. Had to ask twice to get milk for coffee.
Specials were all seafood dishes.
Food was good, but the bad service was a real downer. Probably won't return    [03 Nov 2000 22:37:07]

I love this place
This has to be the best place I have ever been to. I went here w/ a large group of people for a ski retreat. We used the reserved area in the Marriott and the buffet was the best I have ever had. I want to come back, but unfortunately I live far away.    [15 Jan 2001 20:25:59]

Valentino's has awesome food, great service, a perfect atmosphere for everyone and is very affordable. I've eaten there for several years now and always spread the word about how delicious the food is and how wonderful the service is. I've never been disappointed. It's well worth it.    [03 Jan 2003 16:04:01]

Not good
We ate here & had the flounder, not only was it watery & tasteless but it had tiny bones in it that cut my tongue.
The bowl my broccoli came in had pieces of spaghetti in it.
The service was just ok.
I would not return.    [24 Mar 2004 19:24:16]

Great
This is really a great restaurant when with friends; large tables, great food, nice ambiance, etc. Did I mention that they have excellent Italian food. This is definiotely one of my favorite Italian restaurants. BYOB, nice menu choices.    [25 Jan 2005 15:31:37]

I'd rather pay a little more
I do go to Valentino's regularly, but I have learned over the years to pick a time when it is not busy. The service is really not up to par with other similar-caliber eateries. And it is not that there is anything wrong with the waitstaff; it is that Valentino's is not sufficiently staffed during its busiest times. I would rather pay a slightly higher price, knowing that I will be waited on in a timely fashion, that the food will be delivered simultaneously to all guests, and that my coffee won't be cold by the time I get the cream. They need to staff better during high traffic hours...It IS a BYOB so it's not as if the staff is stuck running drinks! I submit my Overall Rating with reservations as noted (pun not intended :) ).    [26 Mar 2005 13:21:25]

Terrible Food
I ordered the stuffed flounder for $23.95, expecting to get something great at that price. Honestly, it was so spicy I could tell if the stuffing had crabmeat or tuna fish. All I tasted was black pepper. It was terrible. It was Valentine's Day, so there were limited menu choices. I did not bother to try anything else because it took one hour to get our food. I left as I came -- with an empty stomach. I will not go back to Valentino's.    [18 Feb 2006 15:44:49]
