Great atmosphere mediocre food poor service
My co-workers and I just returned from a lunch at Cafe Alessio. Although we enjoyed the restaurant's beautiful outdoor dining patio, the pleasant atmosphere was negated by issues with the food and service.

I ordered the “House Special” pasta dish ($10.95) with a pink vodka sauce, shrimp and crabmeat. Although I clearly specified linguine, it was prepared with penne. When I pointed this out to the server, he did not offer to fix the problem or remove the charge from our tab. We didn’t exactly have the time to wait for a “redo,” anyway. To make matters worse, my pasta dish was cold—and the portion was surprisingly small, given the price!

I suggest that you proceed to Cafe Alessio with caution. Be prepared to overspend on underwhelming dishes. Expect mediocre service. But, if the weather's nice, you're sure to enjoy the patio!    [01 Jun 2005 12:59:13]

Absolutely awful. Food was mediocre at best and service was worse.
Unknowledgeble staff who could care less whether your order was correct or if you were happy. Attitude overwhelmingly hostile. Sucked teeth and rolled eyes when asked for rolls and butter. Pasta portions extremely
small considering price. No amenities, chef must have been on break and called in Chef Boyardee in the can.    [29 Oct 2005 23:09:22]

Great food and service
I have dined at Cafe Alessio for lunch and dinner and the waitstaff has always been wonderful. The food is fantastic with new and original dishes you can not find at other places. The prices are in line with the food and good quality. I highly recommend this Cafe.    [01 Nov 2005 08:48:04]

Great authentic food
Very small and crowded during the cool indoor months, but has a great food at a very resonable price, and my boyfriend is a chef so I can be a pretty tough audience. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.    [05 Nov 2005 12:49:53]

BEST IN BUCKS
This is the best resturant in the county. The cutest servers with the greatest tasting food around. A definite must if you are in the Bucks County area. Test it out for yourself, you'll definitely be pleased!    [07 Dec 2005 14:23:26]

Worst place to sit outside!
If you can tolerate the smell of exaust fumes from cars, sirens from fire engines across the street that seem to go off every hour and awkward gawking looks from pedestrians in vehicles that are a stone's throw away from your table, then you might finally get a chance to enjoy this overly priced small portioned meal. One other side note, the owner's 3 sons are constantly running around the building (think Bart Simpson, Millhouse and that kid that says ah, ha!) making your dining experience, less than pleasurable!    [14 Dec 2005 17:47:41]

A European style gem
A 45 minute drive to this restaurant was worth it. Beautiful and generous signature salad with mushrooms, shrimp, cheese, etc. large enough to share. A grilled portobello mushroom topped with rock shrimp in a cheese sauce. Wood burning oven pizza with a delicious tomato sauce. Very friendly down to earth service with an unhuried pace. A friendliness which makes one want to become a "regular". Good espresso. Dessert will have to wait for our certain return visit. In sum, a nice European gem right in our own back yard.    [08 Mar 2006 08:20:19]

good pizza but they need childcare for son
I enjoyed the pizza but yes, I wanted to offer a babysitter's phone # for their son. He was hanging out on a curb and climbing a pole near diners on a very busy day. I'm surprised child services hasn't been called.    [11 Mar 2006 16:15:08]

We LOVE it!
Cafe Alessio has excellent food and wonderful service!!! We all love it and have gotten wonderful meals each time we've gone. We've recommended it to friends who have absolutely loved it as well! I am so surprised at any negative write-ups, but would suggest they give it another try. It's great pricing for excellent food! The salads and soups are great as well as some of the main dishes. What a cute restaurant too!    [26 Apr 2006 15:56:45]
