A friend of mine suggested I try the Blue Comet... It is a small place, but there's a lot going on there. The food is good, the wait staff is friendly and capable, and there is plenty of good beer on tap. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to stopping by on some of the nights when they have live entertainment. Definitely worth stopping by.    [29 Mar 2003 11:37:01]

A small hole-in-the-wall that caters to an eclectic clientele, mostly younger folks, although it has its regulars who I see there often. On the weekends there is live music, which is generally of a high quality. The beer is plentiful, the food's not too bad, and all in all I had a good time there. I thoroughly recommend it for a place to stop by and have a few.    [17 Oct 2004 17:00:39]

Smashing!
After trying most of the menu at the Comet I can honestly say there's nowhere else in Glenside I'd rather eat OR drink. If you can deal with the smoke it's a great place for a beer, a snack, or a full meal with friends. The prices are reasonable all around and the atmosphere's absolutely unbeatable. Don't wait!    [06 Dec 2005 09:34:39]

I stopped by for live entertainment on Sunday night (heard their Saturday nights are great too!) and the food and entertainment were outstanding. three cheers for the Blue Comet!!! A wide variety of clientele-young, older, punk, preppy, rockabillyand country! Where else can all gather for a great time! -JD    [28 Feb 2006 16:46:52]

was asked to leave
Don't go there if you have a sleeveless shirt even if it was made that way.I went there with my lady and sat down. waitress asked if I had another shirt. I assume because my tattoos were showing was asked to leave. Nowhere that I saw either on their website or at the blue comet was anything posted about proper attire. Although on their website there are pics of regulars in tank tops. Hate to think that was the only chance to try a place I heard a lot of good things about.    [05 Oct 2006 22:37:39]

Great retro atmoshere, w/ art deco lamps and sculptures... mixes w/ a 5o's kind of feel on Sunday nights, live rockabilly bands and great food makes the Blue Comet one of my favorite stops on a Sunday night. there's always a good crowd, and it's guaranteed an unforgettable time    [14 Dec 2006 00:02:18]

Met My Husband There!
I used to live in Glenside and have frequented it since it opened....food is very good and the atmosphere ranges from intimate to lively, depending on the night and the entertainment. The wait staff is always top-notch and the food is very reasonable....a good place to meet people..I should know!    [23 Dec 2006 14:55:39]
