Wednesday July 30th 2003 Our very large family had dinner tonight at the Spotted Hog. My brother read in the paper that they had a "seafood extravaganza". 3 of our party of 12 had ordered the "pacific" dinner for 22.95. It is a shame that the crab was awful-rubbery, and not very fresh tasting. The corn was soggy, and the ear of corn I had was very skimpy! I would have thrown it in the trash, and not fed that to my family. My husband is a huge fan of seafood, and left very dissapointed after eating rocks and sand with every one of his mussels. I ended up eating my nephew's french fries, because I couldnt stand to eat the crab that was way over priced. The staff was nice and everyone seemed concerned that we had a nice dinner, but we didn't have a nice dinner. I am not writing this to get a free coupon or anything. I would just like to see the food improve so that people aren't spending their hard-earned money on awful food. [30 Jul 2003 22:06:52]

No concern for Patrons' time! On November 25, 2006 my family and I drove over an hour to visit Peddler's Village. When we arrived we were hungry and checked the map for restaurants. The Spotted Hog sounded like it was just right for us. Upon arrival we were told that the wait was around 45-60 minutes. We decided to wait as all the restaurants looked crowded with lines out the door. However, there were many tables open but not being used. When we asked about the wait vs. table situation we were informed that there were not enough waitresses to serve those tables. To further our aggravation, the wait was over 1 1/2 hours, up to twice as long as originally told! Then, to top it off we were seated at one of the open tables we were staring at for the entire wait. By the time we were through with our meal, the shops and attractions were closing. What a waste of time! Perhaps if we were given the correct wait time we would have chosen to go to a different restaurant or leave the area and return after our meal. The Spotted Hog did not apologize or compensate us for the delay. I guess they know they are making money either way and have no concern for their patron’s time. Although the food was delicious the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope to pass this along so that other people traveling long distances will not have their time trivialized.
