nasty clientele
The restaurant though lovely has quite a few obnoxious drunks at the VERY smoke filled bar. Cursing and vulgarities rule when certain regulars are in the house.    [13 Apr 2007 13:08:28]

Experience is different than mine
When working in the Lancaster area I have eaten lunch many times at the Belvedere. there is a "cast of regulars at their bar". Sometimes they are a little loud: I do not recall them being vulgar. The bartenders, Sharon, Jamie et al are usually in good control. In fact one time when several regualars who know me to see me but know little of me were commenting about a particular minority group she reminded them that the Belvedere's customers are of all types. The guys contained the conversation.

Any way, I have always had good service (bar, dining room and lounge. Creative and very good food. It is a friendly place for an "out-of-towner".

Belvedere is Smoke-Free
I definitely had a different experience.. While there are certain regulars there I'm not there often enough to know who is regular and who is not. So I guess the person who felt the regulars ruled with vulgarity must be there often enough to be a regular themselves. I guess it's good.. or else they wouldn't go back. Additionally, the Belvedere is smoke-free now.. must have been a very long time since you've been there. Recently my college hosted our reunion there.. and the Belvedere went above and beyond with excellent food and service. They certainly know how to do a party!!! Great job!!
