Description

Wildflower's is a small, intimate restaurant with an outdoor patio that overlooks the canal. Excellent for small gatherings especially during the spring and summer months.

Great little place hidden in New Hope. Very reasonable home style food. My wife and I both love Wildflowers. Go when the weather is nice to sit outside. Save room for the outstanding cobbler.    [19 Oct 2002 14:35:58]

the owner invited us in.. with our three dogs
We were walking our two Corgi's and Cockapoo around New Hope, wondering why we couldn't sit at an outdoor cafe and eat. As we checked out Wildflowers menu, the owner invited us in. We sat in a corner, our dogs nestled under our table. Had a wonderful meal. Some people didn't like the dogs, I'm sure, but the owner loved them and the only disturbance was when geese flew by overhead, squawking, which set out dogs barking for a second. I plan to bring a group tour here, because of the wonderful food and the incredible hospitality to dog owners.    [17 Feb 2004 20:54:13]

Perfect hide-away location, beautiful atmosphere. Go on a sunny day right before twilight and sit outside near the twinkle lights.    [01 Jun 2004 07:53:55]

Bad, Sad Food
A charming atmosphere and scenic river view are not enough to overcome the horrendous food. The cheese "fondue" appetizer was a small bowl of microwaved Velveeta and a very small array of semi-crisp vegetables; the veggie lasagne dinner was pastry, and the vegetables indiscernible; and the Keilbasa dinner had two links of worn out kielbasa and clump of mashed potatoes, looking sad and tired, thrown on a plate - presentation does not even enter the vocabulary here. An added bonus for your dollars....the portions were ridiculously small. I would be embarrassed to serve this food at home, much less at a restaurant in a quaint and popular town.    [05 Jul 2005 14:34:40]

I had vowed to stay away from New Hope.
I renamed it "No Hope" because of the tacky tourism along the main drag. We had moved to the area about 8 years ago and seldom if ever do we venture into New Hope because of the crowds. Well a friend of mine was playing piano in a cabaret in New Hope so three of us went to have dinner and see the show. We decided to eat at Wildflowers on Mechanic St.right in town. Mechanic St is a wonderful little side street which is very cozy with close little houses and interesting storefronts. Wildflowers was wonderful. It offered a very friendly atmosphere, and an incredible menu of rather eclectic food. I went for the Thai chicken in coconut milk with peanuts and sweet potato. If I could have stayed there all evening just eating that dish alone, I would have been pefectly satisfied. There is a lovely view of the street and canal from the terrace which is overhung with all kinds of greenery. Go there in the fall on a nice warm day while it's still light out and sit on the terrace as the day turns to dusk and the torches are lit and the small lights of candles flicker around you. Don't go to a show, make an evening of this place.    [18 Sep 2005 18:27:49]

charming but not cheap
I love the food and the service to pieces. It's a cute little restaurant with an out of focus menu, but that's okay because it means you can bring a few type of friends...they'll all find something. I love the thai food above all else. But the prices...steap. I wish this was byob.    [03 Oct 2007 18:31:30]
