Not worth the high price
Entrees range from $19 - $35 and are highly overpriced. Although the portions are generous and the atmosphere is nice, the food is quite bland. We decided to give them a 2nd chance and we were once again disappointed.    [23 Jul 2002 08:41:31]

Brick Hotel Brunch Worthwhile

Great until recently
We had always gone to The Brick for years, once they shut down to "re-open" with the chain-type menu we've been very disappointed. We learned from our server that the appetizers are actually frozen as are most of the desserts. Very bland food, much better when it was truly prepared by someone with a culinary degee!!!! We actually watched an employee drop several pieces of silverware and still place them on the table, I left our table to explain what happened at the front desk and was told that the floor was clean. I asked to speak to the manager and someone that did not appear to take much effort in self grooming came out to ask what was going on. I explained to this unkempt man about the silverware incident and he also explained that the floor had just been vaccuumed. HUNH?!?! Front desk personnel is not as nice as it used to be, the servers that had been there for years all decided to leave, new management berates employees in earshot of patrons. We were appalled at the manager screaming at an employee!(Not even the one that dropped the silverware-the manager was very kind to her!) We'll need to find a new restaurant to frequent in Newtown! The Brick Hotel will no longer receive us as patrons!!!The once beautiful and tastefully decorated restaurant is now like that of a chain restaurant. The Brick's ambiance is gone! The only thing decent was our server!!!! We were there a few years back when they were pulling down the wallpaper and saw a beautiful mural by Edward Hicks! It is once again covered with wallpaper!!! The Brick Hotel restaurant is one of our favorites in Bucks County and there are lots to choose from. The atmosphere is very nice, we like the enclosed porch the best and the meals are wonderfully prepared and done to perfection. Highly recommended.    [24 Feb 2004 22:22:41]

The rooms are beautiful and cozy and the service is amazing.

I had a family dinner at Brick on Saturday May 27th- The service was great the food was amazing. What I was most impressed about was the selections. The menu had something for everyone along with seasonal weekly specials. We sat on the enclosed porch looking out at the garden- after a great meal my wife asked if we could have dessert in the garden-They allowed us to wind down our evening in the garden in a beatiful setting- This restaurant is like no other A-Plus

Beautiful Presentation
Overpriced food presented in exquisite manner in fancy setting. We visited on June 30 & requested outdoor seating but were told they did not guarantee seating in any specific area. Upon arrival we found they had a wedding party taking the whole outdoor area, a small detail we should have been informed of when we called for the reservation. Food was good but vastly overpriced, I doubt if many diners request "doggie bags". My lamb chops were tender but not cooked medium as requested. Precipitous Decline
No salt and pepper on the table - not to worry, the fried (advertised as sauteed)food was plenty salty... the bread plate was a coffee cup saucer..not to worry, no bread was served... thirsty? No water refills...ice tea ordered but not delivered.. cocktail made with something other than as ordered... the menu? New Ownership and Service is back
I have dined many times at the Brick and loved the food but always came back disappointed in Service and Ambiance. Loud Music, Poor Service and shoddy china but NO More - just went again in early January to find no loud music on a Saturday and still great menu and superb service. I asked what changed - ownership. I now go there frequently.

I am sure glad I gave them a 2nd chance.
