Falling Ratings in My Book
I have been arranging dinners parties with friends for years. We have met at the Adobe once or twice every 6 months for the last ten years. Last Friday night will be my last attempt there. In the past 8 months I have tried numerous times to allow the Adobe to be my favorite place again and I consistently leave disappointed. The food is still fantastic but the service is awful. We were told to go to the back bar and they would find us when a table for six opened. We sat and watched people just seating themselves. After 1.5 hours I went up front and asked why. I was told I needed to "hawk" a table and just grab it when it opened. Once we did grab a table, no one on the wait staff would give us eye contact to even order a drink. I went to the bar to get menus and drinks and about 45 minutes later the bar tender came over to take our order. This is about the 6th or 7th time I have tried to enjoy the Cafe in the last 8 months and I will not try again.    [17 Nov 2003 11:55:16]
