Quality seafood is a lost art
This place is a real throwback to the days when people were proud to serve the best. I wish we came through Pittsburgh more frequently. Now that we've discovered this place it will be a regular stop for us.    [07 Feb 2008 00:16:57]

Small fish sandwich for $6.95
I purchased a fish sandwich for $6.95 and was sorely dissappointed. This is the first time that I've to Benkovitz for over 2 years. The 2 pieces of fish on the sandwich were evenly sized and squared off, and did not appear to be hand-breaded. When I pay over $7 for a sandwich, I expect to see a bit more fish unless it's a sit down restaurant, although the fish sandwich at Wooleys is bigger and hand breaded. I am extremely disappointed and will never go back to Benkovitz again. If this were a sit-down restaurant instead of waiting in line for an order, I might expect such a small sandwich. This Place Has Gone Downhill Fast.
I used to be a weekly patron of Benkovitz up util about 6 months ago when I could no longer take the crap treatment dished out by the new owners. Its amazing how different this place REALLY is after the Benkovitz Family left. Dried out and small fish sandwiches and snotty attitudes.    [12 Mar 2009 10:59:48]
