Pottstown: A Pricey Delicious Experience If you are looking for an inexpensive outing, stay away from the Funky Lil'Kitchen. The menu prices are like New York City with the ambiance of downtown Pottstown. Food: The shark taco was unique- garnished with pineapple and grapefruit($7.50) for 2 taco's. The crab salad was mediocre for the $7.25- it needs good, quality crab for the price. The sauteed brook trout with mushrooms, spinach, and bacon was delicous at $21.50. The menu is limited to whatever the chef's desire to make of the day is. I could have done without the waitress "pushing" the hemp brownies. Dinner for two without dessert and drinks was $75 including tip. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for Pottstown! [18 Jun 2005 21:07:09]

A treat for Pottstown This place is such a gem!
It is just like dining in the city...but without the drive. The Chef is very inventive, creating dishes that have kept my friends and I coming back for more! The service is very friendly and informative and the vibe is very Bistro-ish.
Who would have thought that Pottstown would offer such a pleasant dining experience! [09 Jan 2006 23:30:17]

There are better choices in Pottstown The menu is very limited. The food is lacking in flavor and spices. The waitress "pushing"the hemp brownies happened to me too.The price was too expensive for the portion given. Two times they did not have the duck tacos. The waitress was snooty when I passed on the cantelope shooter. When your hours are posted on the door, you should be open during those hours. NOT to pricey for Pottstown! With all do respect to Ms. Hollis - I do not agree that this fine restaurant is too pricey for Pottstown. In fact, this is just what the old industrial burg needed. The food and service are top notch - honestly comparable to any great restaurant in the city. Every time we dine here the place is full - bringing people from Philadelphia, Reading, King of Prussia, New Jersey, etc...into the area.
They are doing a great job! [10 Mar 2006 11:06:51]

A great spot to dine. My wife and I found FLK last year and have eaten there on numerous occasions. We have enjoyed great food and service on almost every visit. Friends who have joined us are amazed that Pottstown has such a good restuarant and think they would really do well in Philadelphia. [06 Jul 2006 17:19:21]

Superb food terrible wine glasses We had a wonderful dinner – first time- at F.L.K. In fact, we’ve had dinner in innumerable restaurants through the years, and the food at F.L. K. is truly superb- wonderful contrasts of flavors, just-right portions, nice presentations, and an attentive, entertaining and delightful waiter. But as for those “wine glasses”, they must GO! The four of us were unanimous. When you have two 80 bottles of wine you don’t what a glass tumbler. Did you ever try to “swirl” wine in those ghastly clunkers? Please, at least give us an option- tumbler or wine glass We really want to return to F.L.K. again soon, but can we bring our own wine glasses?. (The only alternative would be inexpensive jug wine.) The “funkiness” is charming, but at least respect how wine should be enjoyed. Please! Other than that the food is five star. [06 Oct 2006 23:08:27]

wine glass response FLK has stem glasses at the restaurant...did you ask for them???
Also, they let you bring your own if you wish. I have seen people bring in their own glasses while we were there.
*interesting fact* The design of the glasses they use is based on the original european wine glass....although I understand your wanting a stem, the glasses they use are not tumblers, they are actually european wine glasses. You can google it! [17 Oct 2006 11:39:46]

Looking for every excuse to go back!! Why do people say, "They would do well in Phila", Don't the rest of us out here deserve a great place to eat too? My husband and I loved our very late dinner at FLK and am planning to go tonight if we can get a reservation. The Ambiance was great and The food was delicious. When I was in Italy, all the locals drank wine from the style of glasses they have at FLK. Prego! [26 Jan 2007 09:26:02]

Excellent Dinner! My husband and I tried FLK for the first time last night and we were very satisfied with our visit! We live about 5 minutes from this place but had never seen or heard of it until I happened to see something about it online yesterday. Figured we would try it out and we'll definitely be going back. The decor is a little basic but the food was exceptional, the service was friendly and the waitress even brought me a fresh rose at the end of dinner. Can't wait to get back there and try out a new dish! [25 Jul 2007 07:49:58]
