Faceless Chinese Food
Picture a generic shopping strip in suburbia, America. Take generic storefront, insert Chinese restaraunt. Name "Hunan City". Presto - you've got amazingly generic Chinese food. The decor leaves a lot to be desired. It's clean, but completely utterly utilitarian in nature. The large goldfish in a tank at the entrance looked lonely and bored.

Service left me feeling cold. A simple request for a glass of tap water (is that too much to ask?) was greeted with "we don't have that" and a bottle of water I was asked to pay $1.30 for. I took a Cherry Coke instead.

My dish, Sesame Chicken was incredibly average. Your typical "Chinese Chicken Sauce #4", ladled onto chicken with a meager handful of sesame seeds thrown on top. Add to that sticky white rice, undercooked broccoli and you've got an idea what I was served.

Service was curt, with the previously mentioned tap-water incident. The body language of everyone I saw working there seemed to indicate they were pissed off in some fashion. I mean ok everyone has bad days, but make your customers at least feel welcome. "Sit down please" was not not the welcoming "please enjoy our fine establishment" greeting, but more like a Sergeant barking out orders. Sit down! You'll be served! NEXT!

I won't be going back to Hunan City.

Very Good Chinese Food

Best Chinese Food Service in the World
I ordered delivery from Hunan City many times and the food always arrives smelling fresh and at the perfect temperature. The delivery drivers are very fast and deliver the food in fine suits or fresh polo shirts. The overall atmosphere is very professional and high-class. If you are looking to order chinese and have it delivered to you in under five minutes by strong young men in suits then Hunan City is very good choice!!!    [06 Jun 2006 11:01:07]

Bland
Call me strange but I tend to rate Chinese places on thier won-ton soup. Well, at Hunan City it is as bland and watery as it comes. There was truley no flavor, and it seemed like to me that they used a cheap chicken broth for the soup as well. The food itself was average. No bells or whistles went off for me.
