Don't Go for the Food
The beer is good, but the food is not. I've made the mistake of giving it two chances and hesitantly, one last go. But, three strikes. The food came cold, bland or too salty. More like cheap hotel food. The atmosphere and beer are the only saving grace. It really is a brewhouse...just a brewhouse.    [17 Nov 2003 17:52:57]

John Harvard's Brewhouse
After having eaten here almost every year since it has opened, I am sorry to say that the food has not improved. Everything seems to have a slightly burnt taste, and even the soup is overly salted. The only thing I have to praise is the help. Once when eating here I ordered root beer, and got a tasteless drink that one can hardly call a soft drink. The waitress brought me a new one, which was much better, and didn't charge us for the first one. The lighting was extremely dim, and the decor is drab.    [11 Jan 2004 08:57:10]

John Harvard's Brewhouse
I have eaten at John Harvard's many times and have never encountered any of the problems previous posters have written about.
The beer is always good and the food is on par with any large chain restaurant (Chilis, TGI Friday's, Applebees).
Does J.H. serve fine gourmet food? No. Subsequently, if you are looking for a fine gourmet meal you probably wouldn't choose a restaurant with Brewhouse in it's title.
J.H serves good pub fair accompanied by excellent beer.    [02 Oct 2007 11:39:13]
