Favorite Indian place.
Their Chicken Tikka Masala is godlike.    [08 May 2003 18:37:28]

A Tasta of India
The food here is wonderful -- just the right amount of spices and sauce. The drinks they make, for example the Mango Lassi, are exquisite. However, the decor is cheap and gives you the wrong impression of the restaurant. The help is average, nothing special. The price is also average, but isn't too expensive. If you don't care about the ambiance of the place, I would recommend eating here.    [11 Jan 2004 09:00:58]

A Taste of India
This is some of the best Indian food I've eaten. Their lunch buffet is well worth the money - several vegetarian and meat dishes, great dessert selection, condiments, raita - and the dishes change frequently. All the food was fresh and spiced just right. I took two sets of work acquaintances here who enjoy Indian food and we all came back.    [18 Aug 2004 11:53:45]

A Taste of India
Rich flavorful food, with some outstanding dishes in the lunch buffet. Lunch buffet includes a very large variety of food including soup, salads (yes, there are normally at least three different kinds of salads, sometimes more), desserts (including fresh fruit, puddings, kheer, and various Indian sweets), and main vegetarian and meat dishes.

For some reason, they never not have a tasteless lentil/dal-type dish that has too much butter in its sauce. Because the lunch buffet setup only has so many containers to put food in, the fact that this lentil/dal dish is always offered means that there is one less entree offered that would be better served by some change of dish.

On some days there will be a very nice assortment of dishes, other days, just a few. On some days, there are more starchy side dishes in place of a protein entree.

Most dishes are very flavorful and are presented in a thoughtful way.    [19 May 2006 04:47:54]

A Taste of India
We travel all the way from the Jersey Shore for the Saturday lunch buffet (with friends) at this restaurant. The food is wonderful! Goat curry is a specialty, also good are the chana masala, the dahl, the veggie curry, and the desserts. The decor is rather plain, but who goes to a restaurant for the decor? Service is good (we have only gone to the buffet, so service is not as crucial); dirty plates were removed promptly and our water glasses were quickly refilled. They also let all of us linger into the afternoon, talking and drinking cofee. A splendid place!    [15 Sep 2007 09:49:12]

DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to Taste of India, before the afternoon closing at 3:00 PM; I was there at 2:40PM. The restaurant was empty and the air was not on. But no problem, I was really really hungry. The waiter told me to take the dessert with me since they were closing at 3:00PM, all right, understandable.

The buffet was awful!!! I was not able to finish eating my meal. I had trouble chewing the rice, because it was ddry.

All dishes, channa Masala, Aloo greenbeans etc. were TOO HOT, to be eaten. I am a punjabi Indian who grew up on hot punjabi food. This was truly
an insult to my taste buds and spicy Punjabi food. I did not finish my meal because it was inedible.

Raita and Dahi Wada which is a yogurt dish. They were assembled with sourcream NOT YOGURT. I realize SOUR CREAM is cheaper, for $9.50 for lunch buffet you could spring for Yogurt.

The waiter did not provide me with a second glass of water; I left the place with my mouth burning of peppers; all right you are in hurry. Tell your customer, you are no longer seating for the afternoon.

I did get dessert to go. The basin barfi was not cooked thoroughly. Coconut barfi was alright.

I do not feel like I should be annonymous.    [26 Sep 2007 15:42:51]
