Good food good beer Here are my experiences upon the first visitation to this restaurant. It was a cold Sunday afternoon of house hunting when found I was passing a friendly looking pub. The original plan was for my roommate and I to hop in, have an Irish coffee, and then go back to the grind. We headed straight for the bar and had a seat. Not 15 seconds had passed before we were greeted by a friendly bartender. I asked him if he had any good ideas about house hunting and before I knew it we had an entire friendly staff giving us good advice (and a newspaper). Well, to make a long story short [too late?] we spent the rest of the day there having drinks and chatting. The décor was very welcoming, the staff friendly and the food was good. What more could a man want. Ok, one pet peeve: No Guinness For some reason no brew-pub ever carries Guinness, they instead want to sell me on Pig Iron Porter or something similar. Guys, Guinness has a very light flavor! Just because it is dark in color does not make it syrupy and chunky. Why will no brew-pub carry it as a “guest beer” like they do Bud? Sorry, just venting. Go drink and eat here. Great prime rib on Sunday. [21 Nov 2000 17:16:11]

Come for the food, beer Is okay Food is good. Great atmosphere...but every time I've had their beer (8-10+) it has tasted soapy. Like they don't rinse the tanks out well enough. I love beer, and make my own. Their beer would be very good if not for the soapyness. [07 Aug 2003 15:44:50]

Nice change of pace I get tired of eating at the same old places, so tried Iron Hill. It was a wonderful change. Not only is the decor a nice change, but so was the menu and the bar. I'm not a beer drinker, wine is my thing, but went with a beer drinker who loved the house blends she tried. I had ample wine choices and was quite happy with the pinot I ordered. The food was good and there were plenty of interesting choices. [23 Jun 2006 14:28:29]

OK beer, lousy food. go somewhere else The beer there is good for a Brew Pub but Victory Brewing is much better. The food there is and has always been lousy bordering on boring, mundane and tasteless. The food main course dishes have never been exciting, the appetizers have been edible. Recently, within the last year, the food has gotten considerably worse, in my opinion and with all of the new restaurants opening up in town, they now have serious competition. I would recommend a beer but heading elsewhere for a much better dinner at the same price. Smoke free is a plus but almost every place in West Chester has gone smoke free as well. Take my advice and go somewhere else for good food for the same price where the chef actually cares about the dishes he/she prepares. [12 Mar 2008 16:24:08]
