Excellent Choice I have never been disappointed at this restaurant. Always busy on Friday and Saturday nights, plan to wait, but it is worth it. The atmosphere is excellent, originally a log home converted into a restaurant including the addition of a second dining area with a wall of windows overlooking woods. Includes a deck for dining in the summer.
The meals have always been excellent. From starters of crab legs and fried provolone to entrees of Jack Daniel's filet mignon and various seafood and poultry choices. Don't forget the sweet potato struesel or the peanut butter pie for dessert. Nor the hot spiced apple cider in the fall.
Always check the special's board, it is long and has quite a few delightful dishes.
A very busy restaurant, but the waitstaff is always pleasant and helpful. [02 Nov 2002 09:33:06]

The Best My husband and I go there for our Anniversary, we save it for special occassions so that we can appreciate it more. [26 Nov 2002 19:30:49]

Quite good for the area - hence the frequent need to wait. [24 Sep 2003 13:53:27]

Excellent Food, Ambiance. Stopped there in the fall with the leaves in full color. Had lunch in the area with all the windows. Thew sun was shining, it filled the room with a golden glow which was warming to you very insides. It was lunch so I ordered a Log Cabin Burger and soup with sweet potatoe fries on the side. The burger was hugea half pounder with melted Swiss cheese with a great BBQ sauce. The Sweet potatoe fries were great. My soup was a bean soup very much like Chili served with a small loaf of warm bread. It was a totally unique experience, delicious food and atmosphere unsurpassed. [02 Nov 2005 23:01:04]

much changed from opening the portions have gotten smaller since the place became part of the Smithfield Grille group. If you think it is good now, you should have been there 10 years ago. I live in the area and don't go there any more because of it. The food is mediocre. [05 Apr 2006 08:10:29]
