Twin Oaks is excellent. The portions are huge and VERY affordable and very well prepared. Everthing from Italian to steak to seafood, but the fish is not always very good. Service is fast and efficient and I've never had a problem there [19 Jun 2000 17:04:55]

We have to go to Twin Oaks any time we're in RI This is one of our favorite restaurants. We travel to RI each summer to visit my in-laws and make a point of going to Twin Oaks on every visit (nearly 20 years). Great Italian food. [20 Jul 2001 12:12:22]

Greatest Restaurant in RI I've lived in RI for 61 years - I eat at Twin Oaks at least once a month. They have the best baked stuffed shrimp and shrimp cocktail around. It is rivaled only by their veal and the Black Angus steak. [25 Jan 2002 16:53:01]

A Rhode Island Institution ! I have been visiting "TO's" for nearly 35 years. The food and the service are excellent. Make sure to ask for mozzarella cheese melted over your baked potato. It's not on the menu, but GREAT. Gotta have a steak! [01 Jan 2003 20:39:05]

An advertised special that ended up being an appetizer! I have been a fan of Twin Oaks for a number of years and have been away, due to traveling for awhile. What a disappointment on my return. This evening. I ordered off the special menu what I thought was a full meal (price $9.95 for crab cakes). That was all I got, three cakes. No salad, vegetable, potato, rice, etc. In other words, an appetizer for what I thought was a full meal. Needless to say, I was disappointed and found out, after the fact, that this was indeed an appetizer and, per the waiter should not have been on the special menu. Twin Oaks, you have disappointed me. I no longer feel your quality is outstanding for your price. Just look at the menu. You have, unfortunately, joined the pack. [31 Jan 2003 17:56:02]

American food, not Italian After hearing this was a place to go for great Italian, and being a fan of good Italian (both Northern and Southern), I couldn't help but be disappointed. First we waited 3 hours for a table, after being told half that. The place was smokey, even in non-smoking areas. The menu was Americanized-Italian: spaghetti and meatballs, rich tomato sauces. Uninventive, unremarkable. The food quality was at best very average. They messed up our order, and service was very slow. Salad lettuce was wilted. It struck me as a restaurant that uses a lot of canned ingredients rather than fresh. We were a little baffled as to why this restaurant was so popular and crowded. We'll go elsewhere in the future. Been awhile but remembered fondly As a Californian with (now ex-family) from Cranston, Twin Oaks was the place to go for the best baked stuffed shrimp anywhere. Yes, it was always crowded, yes it isn't the most inventitive, but it was always home. Thanks for the fond memories Twin Oaks! [29 Aug 2003 11:23:40]
