All about the money
We booked a rehearsal dinner ten months in advance. We were promised the whole main dining room. What we got was about a half of the dining room with screens (that were falling on our guests) to separate us. We had an open bar, but anyone in the restaurant that night could go up and get a drink. The owner said that the bartender would ask what party they were with, but no one with us was ever asked. When we arrived and saw the setup, we were very upset. The manager (who was the fourth manager we had spoken to in 10 months time, which is telling in itself) called the owner to talk with us. The owner came in, took off the price of the appetizers to appease us, but also was rather insulting.

When we went to sit down, they had to set up another table. We were to have either six tables of eight, or eight tables of six. They had squeezed 43 into 4 tables that would normally sit six and one eight top. The food was delicious, the waitstaff was stretched too thin, and there was only one bartender. Besides our party, they booked another rehearsal dinner, plus because it was graduation night many, many people were there for dinner. I would never book another party there because they seemed more concerned with making plenty of money rather than keeping promises to booked customers.    [17 Jun 2006 03:20:23]

Not worth it
Recently went there for dinner and it was a slow night. The service was good, but the food was not worth the money. The seasonings were overwhelming and in general unimpressive. There was also an odor of mold in the air, I realize it is an old building, but I don't know how comfortable I am with mold spores in the air. In general the atmosphere other than the air was nice, maybe a good place for a drink but if you want good italian save your money and try someplace else.    [21 Aug 2007 00:36:51]

Horrendous
Never in my life have I ever been as disappointed in a restaurant as I was with Post Office Cafe. I frequently go to Pinelli's and love it there so we figured we would try their other restaurants.Right from our entrance we should have turned around the hostess had us wait while she continued her personal conversation with a friend when she finally decided to seat us it took the waiter a good 10 minutes to get to our table. We ordered an appetizer which ended up being completly bland, thank goodness salt and pepper were on the table. Our meal took over an hour to get to our table. The waiter kept promising only a few more minutes. Just as we were about to say forget it our meal finally came out reversed my husband received my steak and I recieved his. We both ordered the filet mignon and he asked for a side of the wild mushrooms as well, he ended up getting filet mignon and mushrooms only he did not recieve the potatoes and vegetable like I did. The restaurant is now completely empty as the other patrons were finished. One of the worst parts was the rude comment our waiter said to me I put my steak on my husband plate to make it easier to box up and he said to me wow you really hated your meal didn't you. I have never felt more humilited in my life. The service we recieved made me feel like I was a Peon. Apparently the hostess was asking other patrons how there meal was but she never once asked us how our visit was.Our waiter never came back to see how our meal was. We have been to some pretty fancy restaurants before and have never had the feeling as if we did not belong or were not welcome as we did tonight at your restaurant. Their wait staff definately need a refresher in manners, courtesy and the chef's need a refresher in time management. I can honestly say I would never go back or reccomend this restaurant to anyone. I am completely mortified at the service I received.    [12 Dec 2007 23:25:36]
