One hit, one miss Not knowing Bolivian cuisine too well (the usual description is "meat and potatos"), we picked a couple dishes that sounded interesting. One was the Pique A Lo Macho, which was great. Strips of beef, bits of sausage, peppers, eggs (hard boiled, on top), and a nice sauce, all served piled on fries. The other (name forgotten) was described as containing "beef jerky". It was edible, but only with work. The beef jerky seemed more like a dry chewy beef bird's nest. It was greatly improved by mixing in a bit of sauce from the Pique A Lo Macho.
The portions were large, so I can't report on the desserts. Meanwhile, the decor was cold and sterile, but I think that will improve. They seemed to be in the midst of a redesign to go Buffet Style. Not only would that improve the decor, but sampling from many dishes could help improve the "hit-or-miss" menu selection from unfamiliar items. Choose correctly, and I think you'll appreciate the taste and value. [11 Oct 2005 11:29:11]

Bolivian Owns It! Bolivian is hands down one of the best restaurants in Providence. They have a great menu from breakfast to dinner, a wonderful and accomodating staff, a nice clean atmosphere, and reasonable prices with generous portions. I would highly recommend them for a casual date or a friends/family gathering. [20 Oct 2005 21:55:04]
