Dont waste your time or gas I drove an hour to experience Cap'n Jack's, and what an experience it was. First, when I arrived I went to the hostess and told her three, she said she could seat me right now. I told her that I was with an elderly lady that was making it in from the parking lot, so she gave our table to someone else and we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. Once seated the waitress was very nice. We order our drinks and had them in no time. We then got our soups and clam cakes. The clam cakes were very good, the chowder left a lot to be desired. We ordered steamers that never came. Once our food came, all three orders were cold, so we sent them back. The wife of the owner came out and said the temp of the dishes was fine. When I told her they were cold she came back with a temperature probe to prove to us they were warm, very rudely I must add. I cancelled my order, but my guests asked for new ones. After she left I commented to my guest how unpleasant she was (I used an explenative remark). Her husband heard when I said to my guests and came over and threatened to kill me and threatened to call the police. Not to escalate things I decided to leave and let my guests enjoy their meal. The owner followed me to the parking lot and tried to punch me. He them sent his two sons out who chased me and them tried to run me over with their truck. They then kicked my guests out of the restaurant and proceeded to punch the car. [18 Jul 2006 00:23:34]

Good RI Seafood I find the review "Don't waste your time or gas" to be not credible. My family and I had a fine meal at Cap'n Jacks recently: delicious clam cakes and chowder and hot fish 'n' chips among other dishes. Heard no death threats to other diners. Very reasonable lunch prices. One complaint: the beer menu is limited. [29 Aug 2006 11:34:15]

Great Food Portions very large, quality excellent, price reasonable - in fact better than reasonable considering the generous portion size. We have been visiting different areas of New England for years and this is the only place we have gone back to again during the same vacation for a second dinner. [29 Jan 2009 00:17:51]

Generous portions-food excellent friendly efficientservice By way of showing much we love this restaurant, we have been taking summer vacations in New england for 20 years and this is the only restaurant we make a point of going to multiple times on the same trip - it's too good to go anyplace else! We are hearty eaters and it is rare to find a place such as this that combines excellent quality food with huge portions. Seafood combo platters are well prepared with a large number of items, and desserts such as strawberry shortcake are amazing! [18 Feb 2009 14:48:50]
