Delightful Indian Cuisine
At the heart of any restaurant business is its food. And preparing delicious food is what the staff at India Palace does best. From mild and creamy coconut soup to spicy curry dishes, India Palace offers something to please every palate. To accompany any entree, India Palace's iced tea is a must. With heavy cinnamon accents and a twist of ginger, it's good sweetened or unsweetened.

The service at India Palace is good, but not as good as the food. Servers are attentive, quick to refill glasses or respond to other needs. Some of them speak only limited English, however.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is somewhat lacking. Oriental artwork coupled with 80s rock-and-roll fail to provide the ambiance one might hope for. The dining area is clean enough, but the restrooms leave much to be desired. They Actually Asked for a Tip
The food was really tasty and the service was quick but not friendly. After I left I forgot to leave a tip and as I was about to drive away my waiter actually came up to my car window holding the bill and saying "tip, tip!" I was so shocked that he was actually asking for a tip. I'm glad I forgot to give him one considering he was so blatantly rude.    [17 Feb 2003 19:48:08]

They actually called back and apologized saying they'd like to fire the people who did this (I couldn't remember his name). The food is enjoyable, ambiance less so but this building used to be a Burger King, so I'll cut them some slack. :-) (I read the comment about the tip, above - someone did that to me at the Steak and Ale down the road there on N. Pleasantburg once. (And yes, we had left a tip; someone obviously pocketed it after we left.) Anyway, India Palace is definitely worth a try.    [11 Jun 2003 11:28:14]

Seems Much Improved
I love Indian food, yet had avoided India Palace for a few years because in the past I had had very rude service. After trying it again recently (2005) I found the service to be friendly, the menu to be revised to include a few favorites, and the restrooms to be immaculate! My Favorite Restaurant in G'ville
My family and I just love this restaurant. The staff is pleasant and the food is great. The restaurant was redecorated a couple of years ago so the ambiance is nice. The bathrooms are always very clean. I can't wait for my next visit.    [20 Jul 2005 15:58:48]

A Real Treat
