Great new facility - same lousy service I have made my second and last visit to the new Newberry Pizza Hut on Winnsboro Road. While the new facility is a vast improvement over the previous one, the service is still at the bottom of the pile. My first visit was at lunch to have the lunch buffet. Four of us from work arrived during the lunch hour to be greeted by no one. We waited about ten minutes to be seated ( no one else was in line at this time, and there were several empty booths and tables). When we were finally seated, the service we received was minimal to say the least. When we had finished, we finally had to give up on waiting for our check, since our lunch hour was now over, and headed to the cash register to pay, only to find a line of about 10 people in front of us waiting to check out - and - get this - NO cashier at the register. While we were waiting for a cashier to come, there was an ever-growing line of people to get in, with no one there to seat them. One customer finally flagged down a passing waitress and asked her if they could go ahead and seat themselves. Total time from entering to leaving - 1 hr 15 min. Very appalling for a lunch buffet, dont you think - especially when most people only get an hour for lunch. My second trip was even more disastrous, albeit much shorter. My family and I decided to try out the highly advertised buffalo chicken pizza on a Sunday night. We drove the 20 mile from our home, and were delighted to see on the sign as we entered that this was their special for the night. Well, once again, there was no one there to seat us. We were the only ones in line, and as we looked around, there were only about a half dozen tables occupied. After about 5 minutes, a lady arrived at the cash register and signaled for a waiter to come seat us. He did, and promptly left. We waited another 15 minutes before anyone ( turned out to be the same waiter who seated us) ame to take our drink order. We told him we were ready to order, and that we wanted a large buffalo chicken pizza,to which we got a very short reply "we're out of that." So besides the same poor service - or lack of service - they had sold out of the advetised special to a sparse crowd of people. My family and I would appreciate it if you could convey this review to the management, as we have no intentions of returning. Good luck finding someone to give it to. Or better still, someone there who cares. [02 May 2004 21:19:16]

Terrible from start to finish My husband, our two children, and my parents have been going to Pizza Hut every Sunday after church for several weeks now, however, I feel we've made our last visit. Every Sunday, our ticket is wrong. This is no exaggeration. When ordering, we tell them our daughter is 3, so her buffet is free. We're charged every time. Our son is six but he eats breadsticks with cheese. Yet every time, we're charged for a buffet for him that we don't use. So each week, we have to tell the waitperson to correct our ticket. Our last visit three weeks ago was no exception.
My father ordered a personal pan pizza. The waitress said they didn't put enough cheese on it so they made him another one. How do you not put enough cheese on it? Two whole pieces out of four didn't have any cheese on them.
My son's school is involved with the Bookit Reading Program. He earned his coupon for October and received his free pizza. However, according to a sheet the school sent home, on his first visit to Pizza Hut, he is supposed to receive a sticker, a sticker book, and a backpack clip. He received none of these. The staff at our restaurant didn't know what I was talking about even after I showed them the paper sent from the school. Not only that but the waitress I had showed me several times what the coupon looked like that I was supposed to turn in. I know what the coupon looks like. I turned one in to her when I ordered so quite obviously I'd seen one. Plus, if he's not getting his stickers, he won't be able to get a BOOK IT! All-Star Reader Award from Pizza Hut.
This is just one day. I can't tell you how many times we've had our orders messed up. I know occasionally mistakes happen, but this has gotten to be a regular occurrence. I can't tell you how many times my son gets his breadsticks well after we've all gotten our food and finished eating because they've misplaced the order, they made it without cheese, they gave our order to someone else or a long list of others excuses. The week before this last incident, we ordered food to be delivered. Forty-five minutes after placing our order, someone calls and said they'd run out of dough and could not make our order. They ran out of dough. At a pizza place. How does that happen?
The service in this place is terrible. The people just do not care. I've sent an email to the corporate office and they've assured me the local place would call me within three days. That was three weeks ago. Avoid this place at all costs!! [29 Nov 2006 14:36:16]
