Description
The first Fatz Cafe opened in a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in November 1988. With the idea to develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu; offer ample portions of quality food, and provide upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere - in short, operate a fun, casual dining restaurant, concentrate on the basics with a heavy emphasis on value, and guests would come. They did!
The restaurant flourished, and Fatz Cafe was born. Cafe Enterprises, Inc. was formed to serve as parent company to the new restaurant and others that would follow.

We always try to find one to eat at when traveling. We were very disappointed in this one with both the food and service. It ruined the whole dining experience for us. We should have called the manager but we were just in shock and not used to what happened. We just wanted to leave and we spent close to $30.00 and even included a good tip that was not warranted.
I was just in shock because at all the other locations we have eaten at, over and above service, wonderful food, great dining experience. [11 Jul 2004 14:56:14]

Fatz Cafe in Conway South Carolina We eat here on Fathers Day and it was excellent. Our waitress was Amy who went beyond the call of duty to make sure everything was perfect. The food was awesome and service was as well. Would recommend to anyone who wants good food and service. Will be back [19 Jun 2006 09:23:09]

A mixed experience The first visit was great. Good food and good service. The second was lacking the service. Is it alright for a waitperson to sit and visit with the customer? if so, When has this changed? I would never presume to take the same position where I was the server. [08 Jul 2006 17:58:24]

Fatz Cafe in Spartanburg Fatz has great food and great service. I love the salads, rolls, and chicken entrees. And on Sunday's, they have great pot roast. The only complaint I have is that, for the last two times that I visited the resturant on on Southport Road gnats are always flying around. I went to the one on Pottery Road, and their service and food was great also; but no gnats. So Pottery Road is the one I go to now. [12 Oct 2006 19:40:44]

Have been to the new restAurant in Charleston, S.C. about 3 times since it opened Dec 4. and enjoyed each dish. Really incredible. Wonderful service out of every waitress that we have had. All of the personal has been exceptional. Have to go to Columbia and Lexington quiet a lot and enjoy the resturants located there also. [14 Dec 2006 02:33:01]
