August 26, 2003 - Meal (Supper) Review We (3 of us) had come to Mitchell for a couple of the concerts at the Corn Palace Festival. The restaurant was close to our hotel, so we decided to eat supper there on 8/26. The food was very good, but the service was horrible. I don't know our waitress' name, but she had short brown hair and glasses. She was only semi-friendly and terribly slow. I don't know if this was her fault or the kitchen. We weren't ever given any explanation. She was inattentive and, after we got our food, just basically disappeared. After our meal, we had to actually get up and ask the bartender for our tab. The waitress was nowhere to be found. This kind of service is never acceptable, but especially during your city's Festival, it absolutely shouldn't be tolerated. [01 Sep 2003 20:32:33]

Outstanding I recently stopped in Mitchell. I asked some locals a good place to eat, without a question they said Chef Louie's is known as the nicest place to eat. Not too expensive, best food around by far, and friendly staff. I had the best steak ever! My waitress was amazing. [10 Sep 2003 20:39:03]

I love it!!!!!! I was passing through Mitchell and spent the night. The billboards along the highway had me hungry. Boy, was I happy for the billboards. The prime rib almost melted in my mouth. Sure wish we had Louies in Kennesaw, GA. If I get to take another trip that way I will be sure to eat there again!!! [24 May 2004 13:07:13]

Great Steaks We were referred to this steak house by the motel we were staying at, they said undoubtedly it was the only choice. We were not dissapointed by any means. The food was great and it was nice to see it was family owned. [04 Jun 2005 20:24:39]

Don't Miss This! Stopped in Mitchell on our way from Philadelphia to NW Montana. Asked the desk clerk "Where's the best steak in town?" "Chef Louie's" she replied. "Did you see the giant herford?" "Yep." "Well that's it!"
The NY strip steak was phenomenal.
I recommended the bread pudding for a dessert, I didn't drink any beverage for about 90 minutes, because I didn't want to loose the flavor! [27 Oct 2006 11:53:09]
