Latest Catch - No More
I usually go to the Belmont Grill for the Grilled Red Snapper sandwich. In fact, a group of us "work buddies" used to get that, but I guess no more. I ordered it yesterday (it's still on the menu), but was told it had been replaced by the Grouper some time ago and the menu just hadn't caught up. I thought they had sure fooled me last time, so I thought it must taste the same. I ordered it. Big mistake. What I got was not grilled, but sauted in butter. At least, that's all I could taste. And, it was served on an onion roll............who does that?

The server assured me that it had been on the menu so long now I must have had it before, but I would have remembered tasting something like that.
As we left the restaurant, I noticed that the Grouper was on the write-in board as a new item, so it's hard to understand how it could have replaced the Snapper "months ago" as the server told me. Well, the new server made me wrong several times during that visit.

So, if you like to order grilled Snapper on white bread and instead receive butter soaked Grouper on an onion roll, by all means go to the Belmont. By the way, the server also told me I am the only one that hasn't liked the new replacement item. Yeah, and pigs can fly.    [12 Oct 2006 10:09:19]
