One of my favorite places
I love this place. Their baba ghanoush is the best! Their hummous is the best! Their falafel is the best (see a pattern here?)! They make this stuff with green beans and they also make the same kind of stuff with turnips (yes, I said turnips). Neither of them TASTE LIKE what they are and are so delicious! The first time he suggested the turnip dish, I said, 'EEEWW' and he encouraged me to try it. I LOVE IT.
I cannot say enough nice things about the food and the people serving the food.    [07 Dec 2004 11:41:33]

Worth going to
Knoxville does not have many unique places but Ali Baba's is one of them. The steak-in-a-sack is their specialty (get it with cheese and mushrooms), you'll like it!    [15 Aug 2005 17:44:16]

Fabulous
It's a great place to go. I feel comfortable stopping by alone and sitting in reading a book or watching television. People are always friendly and the food is very, very good. They sell all sorts of snacks and drinks and home-made sweets too. It's a rare find.    [08 Jan 2006 14:32:12]

Knoxvilles' Last Good Deli
Absolutely first rate. Still make the steamed deli sandwiches and pile the meat on heavy. Have only tried shuerma chicken and lamb as well as King Solomon chicken for middle eastern dishes but both are superb (easy on the onions on that shuerma please!). No beer anymore and good riddance - cuts down on drunks who give drinking a bad name anyway. Always friendly, clean, fast, efficient. I would include something bad if I could think of something. If you ain't been you are depriving yourself of a real treat. Baklava rules !    [19 Feb 2007 16:59:33]

A must stop
I have been stopping by Ali Baba's for at least 15 years now. I don't drive through Knoxvegas very often these days but I make it a point to stop in when in the area. I love the Lamb Shwerma. I have tried several other dishes but the Shwerma is the best. After trying the Middle eastern dishs the first time I have yet to go back to a regular deli sandwich and I loved them.    [25 Oct 2007 21:10:06]
