A Different Kind of Mexican
Chez Guevara is one of the rare Mexican restaurants in Knoxville that doesn't follow the standard modus operandi. Have you noticed that Margarita's, Cancun, Paloncho's, and to a lesser extent Senor Taco have almost the exact same menu, served in pretty much the same way? I enjoy that type of food, but there is something more to be had.

Chez Guevara offers different, more complex Latin American dishes than those other guys. My personal favorite, the roasted pork tamale, comes with slivered almonds and raisins atop a lovely cornmeal exterior. It's these delicate touches, along with a unique environment, that set this restaurant apart from standard Mexican fare.    [09 Oct 2008 15:21:52]
