If you want Mexican food in Memphis, there's no substitute for Cafe Ole. The atmosphere was perfect: laid back and kid friendly. The service was pretty good. Of course, keep in mind this is a casual Mexican restaurant. If your idea of good service is having the napkin placed in your lap, then why are you eating at a Mexican restaurant in the first place? The food is excellent and worth a second, third, and fourth trip.    [12 Jun 2003 11:18:19]

The Best Mexican in Midtown Memphis
You can't beat the atmosphere or the quality of food from Cafe Ole. The staff is always friendly, attentive and always on top of things. The patio during the nicer months is the place to be.    [17 Mar 2004 16:12:27]

Best Midtown Patio
The bacon wrapped shrimp were to die for! The overall impression was very good. The food was good and the patio atmosphere for sipping on cold margaritas was absolutely fantastic. Not a better casual experience to be had.    [12 Dec 2005 15:18:04]

Nothing resembles Mexican cuisine
Cafe Ole does not serve Mexican cuisine, it serves poorly interpreted dishes that make one crave the real thing. If you desire real Mexican cuisine in Memphis, try Los Compadres or La Espiga (okay, Memphians---if you really have to bring up another Memphis "original" Mexican restaurant---the food at Molly's is slightly better than Cafe Ole, but is it really Mexican???...and the fajitas smell really weird). The only positive aspect of Cafe Ole is the large frozen margarita, which, judging by the quality of the food, you'll need several to enjoy your meal.    [16 Nov 2006 20:23:29]
