Wonderful Steaks...Excellent Service
The Great American Land and Cattle Co in Anthony, Texas near the New Mexico border is a great Western Steakhouse. Lots of parking around the back. The building is large and accomodates any number of people. The tables are very large and not crowded. Navajo rugs and hides cover the wall, and wagon wheels provide the support for lights on the ceiling. The place is very well managed and service is polite, efficient, and accomodating. Frequent follow-ups by the waiters (who were wearing white shirts)and refills without asking. White cloth napkins. The meal comes with a dinner roll...nothing special, baked beans...smoked flavor...not bad, but not great, and coleslaw (with a little pineapple in it.)...it was very good. I had steak fries with my steak...they were good. The highlight of the meal was the 1 1/2 lb T-bone steak, a real good charcoal grilled flavor...cooked medium-rare...just right. The steak was thick, tender, juicy, and full of flavor...wonderful!!! Price was reasonable. After eating this wonderful steak I cannot do anything else but highly recommend this place to steak lovers. The food overall rates a four...but the steak was clearly a five plus!!!!!
