The best seafood I have ever had
with the best waiter ever. The price is higher than any where else in but it is the only seafood restaurant.    [20 Mar 2002 13:51:38]

All in all - it's great food
Cons: The eating area is large, noisy and dark. And most of the time you have to wait for a table even though there are plenty available. More expensive than most seafood restaurants in the surrounding area.

Pros: The food is fantastic (and lots of it!), there is a variety of choices on the menu, mounted fish of all kinds adorn the walls (great for the kids to look at) and the service is friendly.    [13 Mar 2003 16:47:28]

Best around Aransas Pass!
We are frequent customers and love the place! Have tried most everything on the menu, and love the stuffed flounder filet. The portions are really big and the price very reasonable, considering the amount of food you get. No one will leave hungry! Our favorite waitress, Tiana, is very good. My tea glass never goes empty! I highly recommend to anyone!    [31 May 2003 19:16:11]

Best Seafood Restaurant EVER!!!!!!!!!
I love this place! The new building is a bit "warehouse-ish" but with all the clientale this place has it has to be. This place has been there for years. It used to be a smaller wooden buildings that housed exotic animals as well as great food. Unfortunately there was a fire and thank goodness they rebuilt!! I don't feel for the quality of food you get the price is too high so I disagree with the previous reviews. I think the food is fresh and fantastic! NOT TO MENTION YOU GET LOADS OF IT!!!I live over 100 miles away and am tempted on a weekly basis to go there to eat.....
People are friendly/food excellent wait time is a bit much but hey for this food its no hassle    [26 Jan 2004 18:33:44]

Excellent Choice
Me and my buddys make it down to Port Aransas 2 or 3 times a year and never have we not taken the time to head on over to the big fisherman. It's with out a doubt the best seafood in the area. With that great taste and service for such an affordable price I'll always have room on my vacation for the big fisherman.    [27 Apr 2004 14:09:02]

Best Margaritas and Pina Coladas!!!!
Hello, We make it a point to stop by The Big Fisherman on our way home everytime we go to Port A. I can't believe no one has mentioned the great drinks they have and the absolute best chicken gizzards and liver for $4, all you can eat!! Look at their lunch specials, great price and lots of food!    [08 Sep 2004 10:55:44]

come hungry
Huge servings of delicious seafood, you may need a doggie bag! Our favorites are the seafood platter, fried shrimp and oysters. It is amazing just to watch what other diners get. We eat at the big fisherman every visit since the 1980s. The noisy, busy atmosphere adds to the "fishermans" ambience. Don't miss this place and pet the kitties when you leave.    [06 Aug 2005 01:06:02]

Not the same!!
We went back to this restaurant - we'd gone there probably 15 years ago, before the fire. The new "warehouse" effect just isn't the same. The food was brought in large quantities, but was blah - had to spice it up! We were truly disappointed!!    [29 Aug 2005 18:03:37]

THIS PLACE IS GREAT
Wow, what a surprise. I guess I was a little cautious about the reviews. Sometimes, tourists places attract people who don't eat out a lot. Well, this place is a MUST SEE if you are in the area. Huge, it must seat 200 or more. Incredible menu and amazing food. Geared more toward quantity than finese but still a great experience.    [28 Jun 2006 17:19:47]
