The Cherry Laurel
This lovely little diner was absolutely fantastic. Everything was wonderful "Especially the Broccoli Cheese Soup and The Chicken Salad". It is a MUST if you are traveling through this area. My highest regards to the owners and operators the setting just took me back as if I were at my Grandmothers. Charming great place to stop
I went to this little "Cafe" this weekend. It was laid back and relaxing. There is very little seating but it is not a real busy place. They have excellent food. I had a ceasar wrap and it was really good and they have the most beautifull yummy melt in you mouth cakes and fudge. The were very nice and very accomadating for our somewhat large group with 4 small kids. I would highly recommend.    [10 Jul 2006 00:23:26]

Wonderful Cakes! Wonderful People!
This is the highlight of my visits back to Texas - to eat at the Cherry Laurel and take home the delicious Mexican Chocolate Cake! I call regularly from Washington DC to special order cakes for my parents. Do not miss this jewel in the midst of East Texas, even if you have to drive out of your way.
