The chicken fried steak is outstanding! The meat, and gravy are excellent. The Country Potatoes are wonderful. The rolls are homemade and the taste is "out of this world"! I love it!    [03 Aug 2002 23:29:08]

5 D is 5 Star
Five D Cattle Company and Meat Market deserves it's reputation and the award if a Blue Ribbon won at "A Taste of Jefferson, Texas" two years running. I have eaten one of everything they offer and all of it was excellent. They serve nothing but the finest aged beef with home made rolls, potatoes and vegetables. I have eaten at 5-D serveral times and have enjoyed it everytime. I order the Baked Potato's and Grilled Pork Chops. They are heavenly. Cooked the way I like them everytime.    [25 May 2004 15:30:43]

Worth the drive
My husband & I drive from Austin,TX to Avinger to visit our family. We always make it a point to go to 5D. My husband always gets the filet mignon. I've tried several things and they are always prepared very well.    [25 Sep 2007 00:50:57]

Excellent steak
