Rio Blanco Delivers Campness Galore
It was first visit into the Austin area and Alicia, whom I was visiting, took me to explore the Blanco area. Little did we know we would be entering some sort of magnificent twilight zone. From the beehive haired 50+year old waitress, the pipped in nostalgic music and the basic, straightforward fare, it was something from out of a movie. Art definitely imitates life.

The cherry on top was an old trucker-type walking in and asking all of use patrons in his bestest Texan accent, "Whose Ford truck is that parked in the lot?" I did my best to not spit the food in my mouth with laughter.

Needless to say, the Rio Blanco Cafe is dinner AND theatre of the Blanco area. I will most definitely be back!    [01 Jan 2007 20:51:08]
