Awful
El Chaparral's website says "A taste like no other", and, it's true.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I can remember having.
My realtor had given me a gift card, so we thought we'd try it.
When we arrived, there was a short wait, so we ordered a couple of Margaritas. They were about the blandest I had ever tasted. When our table was called, we asked to have our drink tab transferred to our table. The bartender and the hostess didn't have a clue as to how to do this.
We were seated, and the chips and salsa were, well....chips and salsa. We were served complimentary bean soup, and it was watery and tasteless.
We ordered queso flameado, and although it did come out flaming, the portion was small, and it was incredibly greasy.
I ordered the filet tampiqueno, and my companion ordered beef fajitas. Much later, our food was served luke warm. Her fajitas were like little hard, dry beef nuggets, and my steak tampiqueno was a small piece of meat, with the tampiqueno part so overcooked to be unrecognizable.
We both left 90% of our food uneaten, but it prompted no comment from the waiter. I gave my gift card to the waiter and we left. Why would anyone go here a second time?
In addition....they have a Unisex bathroom which was filthy.    [29 Jul 2007 20:18:14]
