Lousy Service This restaurant has great tasting food once you finally get service. The wait staff does not take used plates from tables, drinks are not refilled in a timely manner, coffee is served afer dessert is complete, and salad is served with meal - which did not arive until 1 hour and 15 minutes after we arrived.
My tuna steak was overcooked (ordered rare - got well done). The fish almondine was so doused with mayonnaise sauce (which was good, but 10 times too much) that you could not find the tiny piece of fish in the dish.
When I spoke with the manager on duty, he said he was aware of the issues, but did not seem concerned about my complaints. They need better management, more help and a much more customer service oriented attitude. [15 Mar 2006 11:11:48]

Our Favorite Restaurant I dine here a couple of times a week for lunch and once a week for dinner. The wait staff quickly learned our needs and preferences and go out of their way to provide great service. Highlights include the Texas Wedge, a romaine lettuce salad with blue cheese dressing and pico de gallo, roast pork chops with cherry glaze, and a chocolate cake to die for. My luncheon favorite is a blackened tilapia on a bed of spinach. This has become the restaurant we choose whenever we wish to celebrate a special family event. [12 May 2006 20:18:44]

Where Is The Hospitality. Okay if any one knows what the restaraunt was before, then you know O'Briens is much better. But still, the food is way way overpriced for the H-E-B quality you get. I hate eating at places that insist on buying the knock off brand of ketchup and sugar, salt, ect. Just buy the nice stuff if your going to charge an arm and a leg for a steak. I dont want Great Value ketchup with my steak I want Hienz! Also, get a wait staff who cares about their customers and are not there for a tip. I don't recommend the restaraunt if you expect service. This place does not fit the title fine dining. [19 May 2006 13:18:32]

Great Food and Ambience, Need More Servers. I really want to like this place enough to go back with lots of friends. The menu is wonderful, food is excellent, wine list is terrific...but they really need to hire one more server or waitstaff member!
They also need a bonafide hostess--we had to poke our heads in and get the waiter's attention to get seated (no one up at the hostess podium.)
Our waiter was wonderful, but he was overworked. Make sure you order your second drink mid-way through your first! What they really need is an extra waitstaff member to refill water glasses, take drink orders, and pick up used dishes.
On the bright side, they had three kinds of creme brulee! [12 Jun 2006 11:14:46]

Wonderful Service - Great Food I have been to O'Brien's Restaurat several times. It is a first class restaurant. Wonderful Wine List and great steaks, fish and salads. The specials are out of this world. One really great thing - which you never see any more is that the owners eat there every night and are always on site making sure all is run well. I was there the other night and it was great. [26 Jul 2006 13:10:12]

Great food and service We have been eating at O'Brien's for two years now and it is one of our all time favorite restaurants. Granted early on the service could have been better, but that has been corrected in spades. This is where we now go for birthdays and other special occasions.
The food is wonderful and prepared just right. One of my favorites is the citrus glazed salmon. The stuffed shells are also outstanding.
For service, quality food and a great wine selection. [26 Jul 2006 15:29:35]

Great Place We have eaten at O'Brien's several times, and have enjoyed their bar also. They have great food, and bar drinks. Their service is good, and the servers are their to please. The place is very clean and the atmosphere is appealing. We give it a thumbs up. [09 Nov 2006 14:48:52]
