Spinelli's Vistro (formerly Boerne Vistro) offers an eclectic selection of German, Italian and Texas cuisines. The tastefully decorated 35-foot bookcase gives the dining room a unique ambiance. The Vistro is available for catering your event. Reservations are accepted, but are usually not required except for unusually busy nights, like New Year's Eve, for instance. The Vistro offers a nice balance between sophisticated elegance and down-home Texas casual. The Vistro also hosts a bed and breakfast close to downtown Boerne; go to their web site for more details.

Great ambience, Nice selection
The restaurant with the towering bookcases serves a nice variety of Italian, Seafood and German fare. I've eaten here a few times and never been disappointed, but never been wowed either. The regular seating is nice but there are also some indoor picnic tables that are decidedly more lowbrow, and better if you've brought the whole cabal with you. You can usually just walk right in without reservations. There is also a bed and breakfast here, about which I've heard mixed reviews, caveat emptor.    [12 Dec 2005 17:51:14]
