This is Brownwood?
Steve's uses very unique recipes that are basically new twists on old faves. Their sandwiches and soups are out of this world and definitely worth the trip for out-of-towners looking for a memorable meal. Atmosphere more reminiscent of an eclectic mountain retreat cafe than one located in downtown Brownwood.    [01 Oct 2001 15:46:26]

Best Restaurant In Central Texas
Steve's Market and Deli is one of the best restaurants in central Texas. The food is incredible and so is the service. If you're ever in Brownwood I highly suggest you stop in. In fact you would have to be a complete idiot not to.    [16 Feb 2003 22:47:58]

Country Boy Finds Food Heaven
I passed on Steve's for a long time thinking it was probably be one of those expensive and not much food places. Boy was I wrong. Kind of pricey; but great food! I'm pretty much the old meat and taters type guy but, what I ate at Steve's was worth every penny it cost me.    [11 Mar 2003 15:22:13]

This Is One Place That Is a Must Eat at
I try to eat at Steves' every time I am in Brownwood. Their menu is so yummy you could eat it! Try anything and your stomach and body will thank you. And about the price -- it is not expensive, especially considering you are getting huge portions of homemade, handmade goodness. I recommend it all! Plus, Steve and Steve are such personable and lovely people. Everyone should have a Steve (or two!) in their life!    [10 Apr 2003 09:26:42]

Stellar Food, Impeccable Service
This small restaurant is set in a mid-sized city, but the food, atmosphere and service are world class. Every offering on the menu is a savory delight. The atmosphere is inspiringly creative and the service is perfectly executed. If you haven't been to Steves' Market and Deli, you are denying yourself a great pleasure.    [10 Apr 2003 22:36:33]

The Best in Downtown Brownwood
Best soup have ever eaten - just the right seasonings. Chef's Special is our favorite. Everything we have eaten to date is super.

The place is clean and displays a inspection with a A+ rating.

The fellows doing the cooking and the waiting of tables are the greatest. Special friends and business associates.    [10 Apr 2003 23:19:23]

What's Not To Like?
The weather changes, the days change, and so do a person's food choices...and choices is what you get at Steves' Market
and Deli. I can eat there on a cool, rainy day and have the best soup-of-the-day. Three days later I eat there when it's 95 degrees and have the best grilled chicken Caesar salad around. It's honestly a flip of the coin to decide on a Sandwich-a-la-Steve. The service is top notch and I feel very at home there. Thanks, Steves'.    [24 May 2003 17:06:28]

Men Like It Too
Just letting the guys know that this is no "women's tea room"...no lacy curtains but big servings of delicious sandwiches and soup. A coffee drinker I am, and they have some great blends. The specialty teas are a favorite too. I go as often as I can which is not near often as I would like. The owners know how to make their customers welcome,
and very well fed. Check 'em out.    [24 May 2003 17:18:00]

A Jewel in the Heart of Texas
The city of Brownwood is truly blessed to have such a wonderful eating establishment. I have traveled all across the US and few restaurants compare to SM&D. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are the best you can find. This level of quality can only come from people who put their hearts and souls into their product. You can search far and wide, but Steve and Steven are two of the most wonderful people you will ever be blessed in meeting. I always look forward to having the opportunity to visited and dine at their restaurant.    [31 May 2003 01:05:37]

Who Knew?
On my many visits to Brownwood, dining was not one of the things I looked forward to. However, after being introduced to Steve's, all of my preconceived notions about Brownwood have changed. The only trouble is choosing between delicacies. If you visit Brownwood, make sure you visit Steve's. Great food, great decor, and a guaranteed great experience.    [23 Jul 2003 18:04:38]
