What a great find in this small city in North Texas. Off the beaten path, cosy dinning, BYOB.

Chef is great, food consistent. Most customers are repeat.

A Great Place for Lunch
The Purple Turnip is near my office, and my colleagues and I eat there about three days a week. The regular menu items are great, and so are the daily specials. My favorite is the salmon sandwich (daily special) and a close second is the Italian chicken breast sandwich. Lately they have sometimes had fried orange roughy which is superb. I also like the chicken Caesar salad. We never have room for dessert, so I can't comment there, but the desserts look great. The restaurant is open evenings Thurday-Saturday and I understand the food is fancier then, but it can't be any better. The wait staff is always busy and sometimes a little forgetful, but they know us regulars and we love them.    [24 Sep 2003 12:44:12]
