We are Boycotting . Cafe Eccell is hit or miss - on everything - some nights the food is outstanding and other nights - I'd opt for take out. Wait staff is mostly young and inexperienced - so if you get a veteran - consider yourself lucky. When busy - extremely slow....all in all - there's better places in B/CS area. [20 Oct 2004 17:12:07]

Excellent steak and dessert First visit. Not crowded. The service was good, but the waiter was very young and more eager than efficient. I had iceberg wedge and steak, which hardly challenges the kitchent. They were both excellent, as was the apple cake dessert....which was large enought for three people, it was so rich. My companion had the red snapper, which he deemed excellent. Light almost too low to read the menu. Very informal atmosphere and a little dirty...I think. Who can see? 3 stars (out of 4). It gets one of those just for not being a chain! [31 Oct 2005 23:36:53]

Ruined My Graduation!! I suggested Cafe Eccell to my out-of-town parents for a nice place to go for my graduation and they made reservations. Our table of 6 all ordered seafood. When they brought out our meals, after a few bites we ALL said the food was COLD! We sent back the food and one of the managers came by and told us "Ahi Tuna cooked rare will be cool on the inside". NO KIDDING! But EVERYTHING, everyone else's fish and side dishes were cold. They made excuses and made us feel stupid! Then they brought out the food again and it was the exact same food, just reheated! For a restaurant of that caliber that is unacceptable! We then sent it back again, with 3 people changing their order because they were fed-up with the service. A bit later the food was brought out again, and this time it was good. In the mean time, the manager again made excuses that they were busy and that there was nothing they could do! They offered free appetizer cards for next time. We were like, are you kidding me. We couldn't believe how they were handling the situation! As a service major, the 1st thing we learn is that if you mess up, the manager goes FAR AND BEYOND to fix the situation so that the customer remembers only the fix and not the situation. In the end, the 2 bottles of wine were taken care of and only 25% of the bill was discounted, and this was pulling teeth to get this. The management basically didn't care that they ruined my night and my graduation night! I will say our server was excellent! She did everything she could to make sure that we were taken care of and happy. [26 May 2009 18:56:31]
