Great food...terrible service
My family just went to the Bamboo Garden for the first time. We were seated right away, however it took a few minutes for the server to come take our drink order. 5 minutes went by when another server came by to take our drink order again. Even though we told her we had already placed the order she took it again and brought it back...this time quickly. We never saw the original server again.

We then placed our food order for ourselves and children. 45 minutes later we received our Hot and Sour Soup and Appetizer. 1 hour later we received our children's dish but still no entree for us.

After 1 hour and 10 minutes we asked to speak to the manager and were told that the OWNER was the only one on duty and she was to busy to come out of the kitchen to talk to us. When we told our server to pack our dishes to go she said she would and would comp our ticket. When my husband saw the owner he waved her over and she told us that our food had been up for 15 minutes and that she rang the bell for the server to bring it, however, the server never came so she left it there. When we asked to the food to go she changed her story that the food was still not prepared.

Not only did the manager not take any responsiblity for the poor service but she blamed her employees for the error. Also, it would have been a little understanding had the restaurant been crowded, however, only 5 - 7 other tables were full. Completely unbelievable.

We are of the opinion that the best food in the world isn't worth waiting through bad service.    [06 Mar 2005 21:54:32]

Best I've Had
This restaurant is probably the best I've had in Chinese and Vietnamese. However, through my years of dining here...I've learned to go at the right times. I have no complaints on the food. Usually if there is one, the manager is quick to offer something to compensate. I'm quite sympathetic with people in customer service so to the other reviewer, some people just have a bad day.    [18 Jun 2007 20:58:59]
