My Favorite Since a Baby I have been going to Old Mexican Inn since I was a baby. I now live near Seattle WA and STILL fly to TX for OMI's Orange Dip and Monterey Special. It has everything. Tamale, Cheese enchilada, beef enchilada and chile conqueso. The great chili sauce that you only get with real TexMex covers everything. Not for those on a diet but worth the caloric splurge. The beer is icy cold and the chips are hot and crisp. The service is that of a resturant that has been in town for about 30 years. (It has!) I recommend OMI to all my friends and clients(I am a travel agent). [25 Aug 2002 20:28:32]

Have to try orange dip!! This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I grew up around Corsicana, and for a long time, I frequented the Old Mexican Inn every Wednesday for their specials: $2.99 Cheese Enchilada dinner and all night happy hour price ritas. All of the servers knew me by name and took extra effort to get to know me and my friends. The best part is the orange dip. It's served with warm tortilla chips and salsa. I can't find this stuff anywhere else, and when I am in Corsicana, I make a point to pick up a big container of their dip as do many of my friends. [16 Sep 2002 23:03:39]

The best Mexican Restaurant in the South I was fortunate, I suppose, to have been able to eat at the Inn on many occasions growing up due to being the cousin to the owner (Julius). As a grown man looking back I think my memories of this place are some of my greatest. My grandparents, Adolph (PAPA) and Maurine (MAMA), enjoyed traveling to visit my Aunt Carrie and of course I always tagged along. Not just to get in on a good visit but, also to get to eat the fantastic food at the Inn. These remarkable memories stay with me even today and yes, I still crave the orange dip. I must plan a visit soon so that my family and I may again indulge in the great Mexican food at the Restaurant.

The Best! I live 75 miles from Corsicana, so don't eat there often enough. However, I can honestly say Old Mexican Inn is my very favorite Mexican food restaurant. I love the Cheese Enchilada Dinner which is covered by the best Chili Con Carne sauce I have ever tasted. I order this plate any time, but it is still offered as the Wednesday lunch special for only $2.99! Also, I love the house Orange dip, which was created by OMI, and I've never seen it at any other restaurant. Even the beans and rice are the very best. I love OMI, and recommend it to anyone. However, my only caution is to non-smoker's: make sure you ask to be seated in a non-smoking area. [31 Dec 2005 20:58:54]

No finer Mexican food on this country I grew up in Corsicana and my family went to OMI at least once a week, if not more. No one does refried beans like they do and nobody else has their wonderful Orange Dip! My husband thought I was crazy when I told him about the dip until he actually tasted if for himself (he's from Waco, where we now reside). Now he's always asking when we are gonna make a trip to Corsicana to eat at OMI's. [07 Jun 2007 22:39:53]

True Tex-Mex at it's finest Although I didn't grow up in Corsicana, I spent a great deal of time there with my grandparents. The fact that it is a small town without many restaurants doesn't take away from the fact that OMI has always been awesome. After having lived in Temple, Waco, Tyler, and Denton in the DFW metroplex, it's still my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant.
The somewhat crowded down home atmosphere is part of the fun, even if it's not fancy or relaxing!
I agree with what the others have said, we always just called it "Old Mexican Inn Dip", and it's the best. To this day I crave it with Mexican food! Since they bring it out with salsa and chips before the meal, we have to watch and not fill up before our food arrives! [24 Jul 2007 14:22:55]
